You are not signing anything. Plenty of people have an assessment, take the written plan away and think about it for a month.
Worth knowing first: you are also entitled to a free care needs assessment from your local council, whatever your income or savings, and it is the route to any funding you may be eligible for. The two are different things and it is sensible to have both. Ask your council’s adult social care team by name, and we will point you at the right department if you are not sure.
